TDC April Newsletter

Hello May TDC! it is officially show month, with just days to go, we are so proud to say we have never been so nervous, excited, and prepared for a show in our 10 year history. Looking forward to the month ahead, we have so much to be proud of from our month of April, and a reminder of all the exciting things we still have to come this year at TDC.

Celebrating 10 years

We have spent another month celebrating our 10 year success, rehearsing and taking some well deserved rest. Again, we would like to thank our amazing pupils and their supporters at home for all their hard work and dedication this term, this truly has been an amazing show prep season, filled with joy, excitement and so many achievements. The show will be a big achievement for our dancers being a part of a performance of this scale, we are so proud and every little success should be celebrated.

BTS of the show we have been working hard to be prepared, and levelling up from our past performances. With the 10 year anniversary we have went all out in our celebrations;

  • we have created a NEW backdrop, for taking pictures, which will be featured as a display in the venue hallway. So all our wonderful superstars can feel special getting their snaps before hitting the stage.

  • We have invested time and money into decorations and special extras to be featured throughout the show. We hope you'll enjoy some surprise performances, videos and more in our Tenacity Show.

  • Programmes have levelled up this year, make sure to purchase them at the show as we have made them extra special. We have descriptions sharing the meaning and memory of each performance, some extra special thank you's, sharing pictures of our cast and pictures of memories from our 10 years, as well as show prep progress this year. They are 12 pages and will be a keepsake celebrating our 10 years.

Easter Break

We took 2 weeks off this month for the Easter break, we felt this was needed to give our hard working pupils some R&R, and give our staff the chance to finalise all the workings BTS. In this time we finalised our costumes, including accessories and props which are sure to blow you away, and finalised all the admin that our parents and pupils don't see that is so important for putting together a show.

Baby Ophelia

In this time off our amazing MT Teacher Emma W gave birth to her second daughter Ophelia, on the 10th of April. Emma, big sister Penelope and baby Ophelia are all doing amazing and looking forward to seeing us all at the show. Thank you all for your congratulations and well wishes, we are so excited to have a new member of our dance family.

Senior Rehearsal

On the last Thursday of the break our senior girls showed up to graft, when we held an additional rehearsal at TDC studios. They were able to run all routines and cheer and support one another, as well as work on extra special performances to be features in the show and try on and size the last of their costumes. This was an amazing day, and we were very proud to see all the girls perform with confidence and determination, we can see their love of dance shine again and its amazing to see. Well done Seniors, can't wait to see you shine on stage, next week.

Last Show Rehearsal @TDC Studios

We held our final all together show rehearsal last weekend, we know it was May... however its too good not to share and next months blog will be focused on the post show buzz. This rehearsal was outstanding, the hard work, the attitude and the vibe, everyone who attended, came with an excitement, and we were buzzing the full day. Our performances were 10/10;

Babies and Preschool brought so much joy to the floor, we cant wait to see what they do out there on the big stage.

Juniors doing moves all on their own, remembering routines, showing great professionalism and doing it all with a huge smile.

Our boys TDC crew, were a smash, getting everyone cheering them on, working very well as a team and always surprising us with their moves.

The standard of the intermediates never ceases to amaze us, they have teamworking and performance skills of pupils twice their age and are shining in routines that should be very hard at their level. Keep shining inters!!

Our seniors keep growing and glowing, showing beautiful technique, building confidence with every performance. We are so proud of the dancers and role models you are.

Our Tenacity Cast 2025...

Class Standouts

As always our pupils have been striving to be their best, while enjoying every minute of class and working as a team. However, some pupils have shone extra bright this last month of show prep and deserve more praise and recognition.

  • All of our stretch and skills classes deserve their praise this term, our focus has been on the show, but we have recognised some extra hard work going into these classes. We have achieved new skills, even when our teachers have been encouraging pupils to focus on what skills they already have to avoid accidents ahead of the show (for pupils who attend multiple classes). They are taking on challenges, showing great attitude towards their class, helpers and teachers. We have so much fun in these classes and are keen to see what greatness we can achieve as we finish this term and head to better ourselves next term. Well done Mia and Emily C for finally nailing their back walkovers. And well done Jorgie a superstar in the making, constantly pushing to be her best, not only having mastered progressing her back handspring which she only gained this year, developing it into a flawless roundoff, back handspring (to be featured in the show), now smashed her side arial.

  • Maria has been a stand out Junior in her dances this month, she has the makings of a great team leader, she pretends to be shy but when the music is on she shines bright and knows all of her moves off by heart.

  • Georgia R has impressed her teachers especially in our rehearsal, showing us all the moves she's been practicing and using her listening ears.

  • Analucia has taken the role of Dance captain very seriously. Leading her ballet class, taking and helping with corrections, helping better the dance and making us all smile.

  • Eve and Rachael in our Beginner Acro class have been amazing this month, improving new week in difficult new moves they have in their show routine, they have adapted well to changes in the dance and are both standouts in performance.

  • Ayla and Lydia 2 girls who have been with us since babies, though at times can be shy, both dancers have being glowing with confidence in their dancing. Lydia has improved massivly in her technique, and Ayla has shined as she takes on a special part in their lyrical dance. We are so proud of you both.

  • New to the dance school this year, our Junior Summer is one to watch, she shines any time she is performing and is so professional in her movement for such a young dancer.#

  • Halle M has really stood out to us, she has came on loads and knows and loves what she’s doing .. she had an injury at the on stage rehearsal and acted so professionally for such a young wee soul.

  • Charlotte T has worked extra hard this year, we can see a real difference in her confidence and performance.

  • Corran hasn’t long started and has took junior hip hop in his stride and is smashing it!

  • Millie R and Sophia G - these girls are so kind and beautiful souls, 2 of our newest helpers, and some of our quieter seniors. The younger pupils adore having you in class, not only growing in confidence with their own dance classes, but also in leading others. Thank you for all your help and hard work girls.

  • Last but not least... Senior lyrical performance. Sadly we have to admit we missed some very important information in our show programmes, in not telling you that all of the performances stemmed from this class; group dance, quads, trios, duos, solos, and special extra features... were all choreographed by them (with some help and guidance from their teachers). We have been proud and amazed by what they have created together and separate, and can't wait for it to be shared with all our supporters on stage. Huge shout out to our two stunning soloists Kate and Ellie, the confidence and sheer talent you have makes us beam with pride, shine bright and be the amazing dancers we know you are. Parents pre-warning all of their routines have brought us to tears.

New Timetable 2025/26

We wouldn't be TDC if we didn't keep striving to better ourselves, making our lives even busier without announcing our next big thing to look forward to...

Our New Timetable for the next term is here. End of June we will be closing our doors, and ending the run of our current timetable ready for a new term and the opening of enrolment and return to class August.

We will be holding a trial period for all new and existing pupils from the first week in June, to get a taste of the classes for the new term, more information on this will be shared later on our platforms. Enrolment will be held on the first of July, to set ourselves up for a new term starting the first week of August.

Here it is our 2025/26 term timetable starting after summer enrolment. We are so excited to bring some changes and new classes in the new Term at TDC.

Some FAQ and Answers;

Can the dancers wear Jewellery?

No. No jewellery should be worn on show day, for a number of reasons including safety. If earrings must be worn - a small plain stud is permitted only.

What shoes to wear for hip-hop and commercial?

In discussion with all inter and senior classes, we have decided that black and white trainers should be worn for both dances, any style. Failing this all black trainers is will suffice, please ensure trainers are clean as possible for show day. Junior commercial and hip-hop should wear black jazz shoes as usual.

Do they need Ballet Tights?

Yes, intermediate and senior ballet classes need pink ballet tights to wear with their costumes. This is part of TDC uniform. Link can be found below for ballet tights, if you don't already have them.

Personal belongings?

Please keep all personal items to a minimum sending your child to the show. We feel there is no need for phone in the changing rooms, and would like to limit pictures and videos shared and minimise lost property. Thank you for your understanding.

Show T-shirts

Our show t-shirts have finally arrived and have begun being issued in class. Final reminder uniform and/or black leggings/shorts must be worn for the finale on show day.

All information should be addressed above. If there is any questions you, before the show you need answers on, please get in touch?
