Welcome back to a new term at TDC! We have been quietly working in and outwith our classes to bring new exciting class content, events, and share more on socials, with that we are finally bringing back our monthly Newsletters. If you are new to our dance family, our blogs give you a run down of all things happening at TDC. From class standouts, new ideas created and upcoming events. Our first newsletter from our 25-26 term shares everything we've been up to so far this month and term as well as setting reminders for all the events we have planned up to the year end.

What we've been up to...

Classes Thriving

This term so far has been amazing, classes are busy, buzzing and thriving. August to December TDC focuses on technique, bettering ourselves with new ideas, classes, choreography and skills. We have started from the basics to now challenging ourselves with new sequences weekly across all classes. Allowing us to grow together whether your child is new to the classes or a TDC OG.

Working towards new technique drills, fun learning exercises and new choreography. So that we are ready to share what we’ve been up to at our parents evening at the end of 2025 and across events we have planned this year, which may be sooner than you think. We can’t wait to share what we've been learning and working on, our socials are more active than ever, so keep your eyes peeled and get in touch to let us know what you want to see. Show themes have already been discussed, let's see if we can better ourselves to top our amazing Tenacity performance last year (our improvements so far this year already will blow you away).

Growing our TDC Family

This month we have welcomed lots of new friends to our TDC family. TDC we are so proud of what an amazing month we are having. To all our new pupils, and pupils in new classes this term, well done for being brave trying something new and thriving. We have all settled in amazingly so far, we are growing, glowing, making friends and having so much fun. Our technical abilities across all classes is blowing our teachers away, very proud of our progress across all styles and ages.

Rewarding our wins big or small

This term we have introduced 2 new TDC mascots: big bear and little bear! Keeping incentives going for pupils who have been working extra hard and shining in class. So far this term we have had lots of excited dancers taking home the bear for their efforts in class. As well as our new bears we have been giving out stickers in classes, our pupils have been loving, and we have been documenting our little wins in classes on our instagram story highlights for all our parents and supporters to see.

Commercial Workshop

On Sunday the 21st of September, we welcomed Chloe McNiven to our studio for 3 professional workshops. We were excited to be taught by someone new who had so much industry insight. The day was a huge success. Our dancers were professional, hard working and had so much fun.

We’ve had some wonderful feedback from parents, pupils and even Chloe. We loved seeing our kids shine showing their talent, sass and professionalism. Well done everyone, check out our TikTok videos of all juniors, inters and seniors smashing the choreography they learned on the day.

Thank you again to the inspiring Chloe, our kids adore you. Thank you for sharing your talent, moves and words of wisdom.

Stretch and skills cards

We have reintroduced Skill cards to our three levels of our stretch and skills classes. This was a huge investment and privilege for our classes, we are proud to give our to all our hard working aspiring gymnasts.

Exclusive to our S&S classes, skill cards will be used in class for our pupils to write their own goals and record their progress. Building superstars, pupils also have the opportunity to write their favourite moves, skills they want to achieve, gain stars for perfect moves and work their way up. We hope this is the incentive to continue working hard and keep striving for progress! We even have a section for teachers' comments we intend to send home to share with parents after some time.

Scottish Business Awards

In August TDC were awarded Ayrshires best dance group 2025, at the Scottish Business awards.

Thank you to all those who have shared the love and congratulated us, we wouldn’t be here without the support of our loyal community we have, our TDC dance family. November the team will be attending the Nationals, where we will have the opportunity to stand amongst Scotlands best Dance Schools, win or loose we are grateful for the opportunity and are proud to be recognised.

Notice Board

Fundraising Committee

As TDC continues to grow and our dance family thrives, we have been looking towards planning more events and raising money to grow, upgrade and expand our studio and equipment. We are keen to put together a committee to plan and manage our fundraising efforts for the kids, and are looking for parents to volunteer.

Please get in touch if you are interested in developing TDC’s fundraising committee.

Parking Reminders

We have sent out Parking reminders this month, due to received complaints. We thank you for ensuring you do not block business during pick up and drop off times and park in the appropriate areas.

On the note of parking, we must remind all parents of the safety procedures in place at the studio, as the darker nights come in. We have noticed a lot more parents staying in their parked cars and out of sight of the building. We cannot let anyone under the age of 16 leave without physically seeing a parent or guardian. Staff's time is valuable and we would appreciate parents meeting us at collection time out of your cars and where we can see you (not in the dark up the hill).

We appreciate classes are busy and there is limited parking, please park in an appropriate place and walk to the collection point and carpool where possible. Thank you for understanding.

Class stand outs

As previously mentioned we are trying to share more and award more wins in class and on socials this Term at TDC! You can keep up with all our class standouts on our socials, through posts, stories and our instagram highlights! We will be sharing more through our newsletters as the months go on. Our Award winners are holding a spotlight in our hearts till we are able to share a newsletter dedicated to them next week. Excited to share who we think deserve an extra special recognition for this years hard work!

Class of the Month

One class that has stood out to us this month is our 3 stunning commercial classes; Junior, Intermediate and Senior! After their first show performances our classes numbers skyrocketed and the classes have been bursting with energy, confidence and lost of sass. This again stood out with our commercial workshops with Chloe, the girls pick up rate for choreography has blown us away, and our superstars have welcomed new pupils with open arms, and soak up all the new moves and styles their teachers have gave them!

We have been sharing full dances completed in class, including a junior mock “music video”, TikTok’s with the seniors and much more! We can’t get enough of these classes.

We have also been working on a little surprise for you all in class, we will be sharing very soon!!

TikTok Trends

We are back on the TikTok hype, and our dancers are buzzing! We love coming up with ideas and keeping up with trends that are exciting and engaging for our dancers to participate in. Our TikTok account now has over 10k likes and we have loved acting, dancing and having fun creating new videos to share! Like, share and follow along with our TikTok content and join in the fun. What's happening at TDC...

This month:

Awards night

Less than a week away we will be hosting our annual awards night at Gielsland Estate. Our awards night is about celebrating some special talent from a year of hard work, but it is also a way of celebrating with our dance family! We love having all our team there with us to dance, party and simply enjoy each other's company. Every pupil attending will get a medal and as always we have planned entertainment, bar, food trucks and more for the night. We can’t wait to celebrate our night's big winners.

See you all Saturday Night, dressed to impress, ready to celebrate and dance the night away.

Prestige Award acceptance

As announced earlier in the year TDC were named the Prestige Awards Best Dance School. This month the team will be heading to Edinburgh to accept the Award. We are so grateful to receive the honour and recognition for this award.

October Camp

TDC will be hosting our first ever October camp this year, after such an amazingly fun summer camp. We will be dancing, crafting, playing games and so much more!! Camp will be across 3 days; Tuesday, to Thursday 9am-3pm 14th, 15th and 16th of October.

Classes off

TDC will take their October week off like the schools, after our Saturday Awards Night Extravaganza next week. Classes will be off from Monday the 13th and reopen as normal from Monday the 20th of October. Enjoy your time off!

TDC Halloween Week

Spooky season is upon us. TDC will be hosting our annual Halloween week at Classes;

Monday the 27th of October to Saturday the 1st of November.

Pupils are invited to dress up for all classes this week. We have themed Halloween fun planned during class time, including games, prizes, tricks and treats and spooky choreography. This is across all classes, it is not mandatory to dress up, however we do encourage it for all so that no pupil is left out!

Can’t wait to see what crazy costumes you all come up with this year.

Save the date;

Christmas light switch on

For the second year TDCs MT classes have been invited to perform in Kilbirnie and Glengarnocks Light switch on event ‘Licht up oor toon’. We have been asked to sing and dance and have invited all inter and senior Musical Theatre Pupils to volunteer. We will be working on performances in class and can’t wait to perform for everyone again at this amazing event.

Please make sure you let us know if your child will be participating by purchasing a performers ticket via our website events. And come show your support for your dance family by coming to the event and join in the fun.

Parents evening

We will be inviting our pupils to bring a member of their family along with them to class, to watch, share and enjoy each class of our classes for the week!

Parents evenings will run across two weeks this year, the following dates;

Week 1 - Mon 01.12.25 | Wed 03.12.25 | Sat 06.12.25

Week 2 - Tue 09.12.25 | Thurs 11.12.25

This will exclude all Friday classes (stretch and skills and acro Classes)! Due to the nature of these classes, use of equipment etc, we won’t be able to host parents at these classes! We are in the process of planning our annual Stretch and skills floor show, which we hope to perform in the first few months of 2026.

TDC can’t wait to welcome you all to our home and share everything our pupils have achieved in classes this term!

Christmas Parties

TDC is getting ready for party season, ready for Christmas and spreading lots of joy! We are so excited to host our Christmas Party!

Twas the day of Sunday the 14th of December and all through TDC’s Hall, a Christmas party was bouncing with kids having a Ball!

Tickets, times and more information to be shared soon, for now save the date and get excited, there will be events, activities and surprises for all ages! Please get in touch if you have any questions! We can’t wait to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year with our TDC family.

TDC Annual Show

Our show date for 2026 has been set and our theme chosen for our 11th year of TDC! Save the Date…

Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st of May 2026, at the Beacon Arts Center!

Show theme to be announced soon! It’s a good one and we are already excited thinking of songs, costumes and choreography to top last year!!
