Another month of classes have flown by for us at TDC, we have spent our time working on our own personal growth, building each classes ability to work as a team, working towards our parents evenings and floor show, and celebrating Halloween Together in our dance family. We enjoyed some time off and have been thriving since coming back into classes, TDC are looking forward to the last few months of the year, we have lots to work towards and cant wait to share how much our pupils are continuing to improve in our new term. Keep up the hard work, keep dancing, embodying our family values and having fun with us in classes.
This Blog also marks the 1 year mark of us starting our TDC monthly newsletters, we love being able to share with our parents and supporters a little insight into what we get up to, but we are always looking to improve. Please tell us what you like/dislike about our newsletters and anything we could be doing better at TDC...
Here's a look into all we got up to in October 2024 and everything we have to look forward to in the last 2 months of 2024.
What we got up to in October..
September was a month of self improvement for us at TDC, if you look back at our Last newsletter, we have lots of new things happening in and out of class; New timetable, staff, studio improvements, new protocol, equipment and more. This month has been all about settling in and adapting with these changes. Our pupils and parents have all been very welcoming and supportive of change, we thank you for this and lots of encouraging feedback. We strive to create the most supportive, save and enjoyable dance journey for our pupils and supporters at home!
We have been loving Jazz across all age groups, Jazz is a teachers favourite as all our our class teachers thrive in this style. We have been pushing our pupils out their comfort zone, adding new moves to their travelling sections, as we prepare to showcase what we have learned at Parents evening in December. Our inter girls have even been learning senior sequences, steps and different styles of choreography, on both Tuesdays and Saturdays, these girls love learning new things and pick it up so fast for a class their age. Well done girls.
Musical Theatre classes found out about their amazing opportunity, in performing at our local Lights switch on! They have been challenging themselves in class with new choreography and pushing their acting skill, but are now focusing on their singing and learning new Christmas songs for the event. Can't wait to see you all 'Sparkle and Shine'
Our beginner acro had a spotlight earlier in the month where we shared one of our stand outs perfecting a new sequence, Hope was beautiful and set a great example for the rest of the class. This class has been amazing we are so impressed with the improvement so far. Both acro classes learn new sequences every week which is a challenge in itself, our Advanced class were given a very hard sequence aimed at showcasing our more experienced dancers in this class, we were blown away when every pupil gave it a go, pulling out skills we didn't know they had! We can't wait to perfect it, with practice and determination.
We spent October break working on tidying up the studio continuing to make improvements, October marked our first Anniversary of TDC studios, we are so proud of this achievent and thank you all for making the studio your second home.

We are well under way with our rehearsals for our first ever annual Floor show for our Stretch and skills pupils, all of our pupils have been working really hard to perfect their skills to showcase to all their supporters at home. Our Boys only stretch and skills classes especially have been shining extra bright working hard to learn and try new things in the last few weeks, they are hard workes and fearless, can't wait for them all to be able to show all they have achieved.

This Month we celebrated lots of birthdays in and out of class. Happy birthday to all our October Birthdays including our Teachers Emma W and Ellie! Our pupils Priya and Ruby J also came to class with us on their birthdays (on the same night), where we had lots of fun celebrating with them!

Class Stand Outs
As always our TDC pupils continue to amaze us, their are some pupils shining especially bright this month who deserve the recognition for their hard would and emboding .our school values. These are taken from our TDC achievement book, where our staff take note of all our notable wins during class;
Our inter Ava L stood out for showing massive improvement in her level 3 S and S class, for her Beautiful backwalkover.
Grace H has been shining in all her classes, Grace is such a joy to teach, polite and hard working, she has improved so much since our last show and we are super proud of her.
Georgie S is new to us at TDC, she has been constitantly one of our hardest workers in our level 1 S and S class, she soaks in eveny bit of knowledge her teachers share and has been n loving classes with us.
Neve and Mylie have been the ones to watch since moving into our Advanced acro and joining more classes through the week. They have both smashed it fearlessly trying new stills and moves challenging themselves every week, and coming on so well, its amazing how much they have both achieved in such a short time. Neve had only just achieved a back bend before our show and now is confidently falling back on her own, doing backwalkovers and chest rolls un assisted!
Our little hip hop star Blakely has been showing off all his cool moves to his teachers, growing with confidence every week, he brings so much energy to class, we love to watch him shine.
Millie N is another one of our little stars who has been working on confidence and has grown up so much, we are very proud of her.
Ella H has completely blown us away this term, since joinging Jazz classes with us on a Saturday, we have watched her natural talent and ability shine through, she is a little perfectionist and her technique is just beautiful to watch.
Cameron has been coming more and more out of his shell in his hiphop class, especially when it come to our freestyle circle where the spotlight is all on you.
Mia B has been a stand out in our baby hiphop class, within just a few weeks at TDC she has completely came out of her shell. Knowing all the moves already after a shy start - she loves her sassy walks and dancing with the scarfs.
Clark has been working on his Handstands and is doing really well, he takes corrections in his stride.
Rory and Jack have been smashing their handstand bridges and can't wait to show it off at our Floor show next month.
Our little Ariella with the big girl moves, blew us away this month when she whipped out a new skill out of nowhere in class. When warming up between classes Ariella said she though she would just give a back handspring a try un assisted and smashed it. such a hard and amazing skill to achieve for a pupil, only 6 years old. Well done.
Lastly we had to give a special mention to two of our Inter stars Eilisia and Bailee who have been helping and encouraging others especially when it comes to confidence. They make sure no one is left out and are so supportive. Keep being you girls we are proud to have you in our team.
Class of the Month
Our Class of the Month for October is all of our Musical Theatre classes. They have all been working extremely hard, and proving their talent, being challenged with new choreography, being introduced to new Musicals and songs which they are picking up in their stride. Our Teacher Emma W has even been discussing show prep with them, allowing the pupils to share and discuss their ideas for Musicals to be performed by them in our next show in 2025. Now they face their next challenge in preparing for performing at the local lights switch on, learning new songs and moves in such a short period of time can be challenging, but we know our inters and seniors will take it in their stride. Good luck!
Here's what Emma had to say about each of our MT classes in the month of October...
Junior MT... a hard working group, who as a result are absolutly thriving. Each pupil is growing with confidence and enthusiasm week by week, diving into a new song and choreo to 'Splish Splash'. they have embraced the character with such excitment, they are also encouraging and supportive of each other, which is lovely to see.
Inter MT.. Are steadily building both their confidence and sense of teamwork. Each class we lift each other up, learning to rely on one another and embrace the spirit of ensemble performance.
Senior MT... have been working well together, moving into learning more choreography to prepare us for when showtime comes back around. They are a lovely group to teach, Phoebe, Haley, Sophia and Millie have been standing out in class; the girls are throwing themselves straight into this new class and tackling everything head on. A joy to TEACH!!
