TDC March Monthly Newsletter

TDC March Newsletter
TDC March Newsletter

Wow! This has been one of the best months we've ever had at TDC, we have been so busy, so full on and we have enjoyed every second. This month has solidified how well we work as a team, TDC has managed to pull together an entire show in just 12 weeks, a task that is unheard of, one that at the start of the year we didn't think we would be able to achieve. Our staff and our pupils have pulled together an outstanding 10 year anniversary show, one to be proud of, in our fastest turnaround yet. This month we have became recording stars yet again, with our MT pupils shining, we finalised costumes BTS and began the exciting task of trying them on an packing them up for showtime, we finalised the last of our show choreography, and Ellie planned and choreographed a whole finale in only a week (With the help of Jordyn), all of this to ensure we were show ready for our amazing success at our on stage rehearsal, the best a show has ever looked on stage at a rehearsal. All this and so much more, we have been thriving as a school, as a team, the excitement we have coming into these last few weeks of show prep is growing and growing. Lets recap this amazing month past.

What we've been up to at TDC?

Day in the Life

This month we shared a full day in the life at TDC, with all of our Saturday Classes. As if Saturdays at TDC weren't busy enough, the team decided to film our full day, so our supporters at home could get an insight into what we get up to all day. From setting up to small inside jokes, we filmed it all. This was a lot of fun for us to film in class, but not as fun to edit and post.

After managing to get the clips down from 6hrs to 8 minutes, we shared our 'day in the life' on our TikTok account. See the link below.

You see us cleaning routines practicing, discussing ideas, sneak peaks of show routines and so much more. This is exactly what its like for us every week, having a ball. We are so grateful for our amazing team, thank you for the continued support.

Please like share and comment, and if you would like to see more content like this from us, please let us know what classes you'd like to see next.

Recording Session 2025

ree

WOW! Yet again our MT stars proved their professionalism at this years recording session. Every year we have had this amazing opportunity our stars have proved to us why we do what we do and how its all worth the added time, cost and effort for all our team. Well done again to all out Musical Theatre recording superstars.

The day was a huge success, having most of our vocals recorded in one take, we were all 'one take wonders'. Pupils responded well to feedback from Mark at Splash Studios, doing us all proud, it is always a huge learning curve on the day, its impressive to see how our pupils can adapt and remain professional. All age groups showed great effort in their team working skills, in order to get the job done. The energy on the day was amazing, we had a buzz in the air, which you can feel listening to their recordings. We can't wait for everyone to hear what they have created.

ree

Junior;

Aurla showed a great level of professionalism for junior level, so good in fact that Mark also commented on her hard work and leadership.

Emma w noted that all juniors worked extremely hard together, 'Small but mighty team!', they have overcame loosing a teammate last minute as we had to pull out one of our classmates due to health reasons. The junior stars have adapted well to changes and this showed on recording day. You can tell how much they love their tracks this year.

Intermediate;

Our beautiful inter Millie, immediately brightened our days, by coming to celebrate her Birthday on recording day. Practicing our singing voices to sing her Happy Birthday, we hope you had an amazing birthday superstar, thank you for spending it with us.

Our Inter MT performance is filled with fun, and lots of special features which proved challenging and hugely rewarding on recording day. Some stand outs for the recording session were;

Laura showing initiative, in building characterization and showing huge enthusiasm with everything she does.

Jacob's manners throughout classes shine, he has a quiet confidence, listens and apply direction well, he has been very creative and encourages the rest of the class to follow, especially our boys. Rory, Jacob, Christopher and Anthony, all shined at the recording, confident and proud with their voices, they have all been working really hard together as a team.

Sisters Rilee and Baileigh, always show initiative in creating movement, character reactions, as well as when it comes to helping others including their teachers, they are a joy to have in class.

Lauren W has been a huge standout this year, she is always on the ball learning lines, always being consistent with choreography and showing great improvement in her confidence, she has been selected as this years MT dance captain. This was a huge help on recording day, Lauren taking leadership in her stride.

Senior;

Our seniors have blown us away this year. Confident and thriving, they love their routine, have been bold and energetic with their voices, and have worked outstanding as a team. The have all pulled together their own props, encouraged each other into special features and smashed it out the park on the recording day.

The class as a whole worked fearlessly, gliding through the recording as a team, smashing their solo features, cheering each other on and doing most of it all in one take. We couldn't be prouder of how hard this class has worked.

Phoebe, new to MT with us, has been a superstar in class and at the recording. She has been an inspiration, leading creativity in the class, creating story lines, with the help of Ruby. Well done girls.

Eryn our beautiful soloist has took on the role in her stride, this has was made much easier with the support of her classmates. The recording day she shined bright, took in corrections and grew with confidence. We can't wait for you to hear this on on show day.

Photo Album from the day, head to our socials to see some video clips of them in action;

Emma W Maternity Leave

This month we were working extra hard in our musical theatre classes, not only because we were prepping for our recording session and the on stage rehearsal at the end of the month, we were also saying goodbye for now to our amazing teacher Emma W. Emma with the help of Jamie, pulled together to perfect our singing voices, set our movement and worked closely at developing our acting, and characterization skills in each of our musical theatre performances this month. Emma is now on her maternity leave to welcome her second child, we hope she will be blessing us with any day now. We wish her the best of luck, a safe delivery and all the love in the world, growing her beautiful family.

Our MT classes now with their content set for the stage have been left in the capable hands of Jamie and Gemma to polish off routines in the final stretch to show time. Though she was not able to attend our Rehearsal we know she was proudly watching her MT team from home and will see us on show day.

Mothers Day

Happy Mother’s Day this month to all our TDC Dance Mums. Mothers day this year unfortunately fell on the same date as our onstage rehearsal, which was not ideal. But just like our amazing pupils you all love dance and sacrificed your special day to help TDC. We cannot thank you enough, and we promise to make it up to you by giving you our best show yet!!

Thank you to all our dance mums for sacrificing your day for our rehearsal, thank you for supporting us, loving us, letting us dye our hair purple, and watch call the midwife.

Celebrating Our TDC pupils

Celebrating our achievements outside of TDC

Myla and Olivia H from our Intermediate classes did us proud this month, both being awarded 1st place in their respective Burns competitions. We love it when our pupils share their successes out of dancing with us in class. Please continue to share and grow with us and your TDC family. Well done to all our Burns Superstars.

ree

Another huge achievement we have to praise, out with TDC is Beith Primary's Matilda. We hear it was a huge success, and we had lots of pupils involved. Our Teacher Ellie went to see them perform, our very own Sarah taking the lead role alongside many of her TDC classmates, well done to everyone involved.

We also celebrated our beautiful junior star, Emily L's birthday this month... Twice. We hope you had a fabulous weekend celebrating with us, we cant wait to see you after your Florida travels.

ree

And our senior standout Elle, always pushing to be her best and helping others, turned 16 this month, we are so proud to watch you grow into the beautiful woman you are becoming.

Costumes - Celebrating 10 Years

This month you will have seen many little sneak peaks of our costumes for this years show. We have started the grueling task of sizing and bagging all of our costumes, we cannot believe how organised we have been so far, but we have a long way to go. Costumes are one of the things that we are most excited for each year come showtime (pupils ... not teachers). This year has been harder than ever, having up to 37 dancers in some classes in all ranges of sizes. The costumes will complement the themes of the routines and highlight so many important things that make our 10 year anniversary show special. Some costumes help us tell the story, some show how we connect together, grow, and some costumes we literally wore 10 years ago...

ree

We can't wait for you to see them on stage and see for yourselves the creativity and journey we have taken over 10 years of dance at TDC.

On Stage Rehearsal 2025

ree

WOW! We are blown away with our stars professionalism, enthusiasm and Tenacity at this years show rehearsal - on stage. We truly couldn't be prouder of the performances brought to stage at this stage. Well done to every star that came along, thank you for taking on corrections, working hard and having a fun filled day with us. Count down to see it all again, with costumes, lights and lots of glitter is on!!

Class Standouts

Another amazing month of striving to be our best, from shining in class to glowing even brighter on the big stage, our pupils have shown us this month they can do it all. We are so proud of the progress and teamwork our dancers are showing, it takes a village to continue to better ourselves with every show, with that being said we have some hard working pupils who have really been catching their teachers eyes this month, who deserve some recognition for their courage, determination and spirit.

Senior musical theatre class really stepped it up this year with characterization and singing. No shyness or being too cool for MT this year. Our senior girls have worked extremely hard as a team to bring a truly theatre worthy performance to the stage.

Jacob D has made a real impact in inter musical theatre great to see him back with us. This shown through in both our recording session and on stage, as he was mature, showing leadership and creativity and helping his classmates without being asked. He has been a credit to MT this year.

Babies and pre-schoolers where phenomenal at rehearsal and took it on like pros. To be honest we weren't sure how rehearsal for this age group was going to go, being on the big stage for the first time can be very intimidating especially in those as young as our Baby class. Save to say we made the right decision having this age group come to the rehearsal this year. As they blew us away and we hope they can bring it again come show day.

Ellie miller has worked so hard to get to the level she is with very little dance experience before coming to us and joining at senior level is a challenge and she’s smashed it!

Murron - it was amazing watching this inter come out her shell in her performance this year, she was a massive stand out in her MT dance, she has improved massively in the last year and we are so proud of her progress.

Ruby E and Aurla, our Junior superstars - who do the most amount of classes of all our pupils this age. Absolutely smashed rehearsal considering they did not leave the stage the whole time, all of our staff commented on these two's behavior, professionalism and tenacity on stage, both girls kept smiling through all their hard work. Well done.

Same goes to all inters and seniors who kept up high standard the whole day even though were in every dance. It was a hard graft of a day and we have so many pupils in 8+ dances, who continued to get on stage, perform some of the best dancing we have seen them do and come off stage smiling. Amazing, well done superstars.

Inter cheer was a stand out performance, a new style for this age group, they brought a very clean, sharp and exciting performance to stage and was picked as a seniors favourite in class.

Charlotte Ryan smashed it considering she missed a few weeks of class, she has managed to adapt to changes quickly, takes corrections in her stride and has been shining in this dance.

Naomi, Senior has been a Stand out this year in our on stage rehearsal performances! Grown up, working hard and looks like she's found the love in dance again. We are so proud to see her sparkle again.

Little Summer in our junior classes, hasn’t long joined us she’s jumped straight into learning her dances the class already knew. She works so hard and we can tell she is loving her classes, she is a stand out especially in her MT class.

Senior Lyrical Performance - PHENOMINAL! These girls have worked so hard to not only - Choreograph their group routine (with Ellies help of course), but also choreograph their own group and solo routines as special features in the show. Emma - who saw these performances for the first time on the stage was blown away, with the complexity, maturity and level of performance in each dance they created, watching these girls had all the staff in tears, PROUD! (Make sure you all bring your tissues on show day) great role models to the younger ones!

The Jamie's (Jaime's)

Jaime (senior) has really stood out this year to me she’s changed her attitude and worked extremely hard she’s also been a god send when it comes to helping with Madison at the studio.

Jamie Kiltie, our newest team member - class assistant, has became a massive part of our team ! Fitted right in worked so hard helping us out even on a Saturday night looking for clip boards (its the little things) and worked really hard alongside Emma with the musical theatre can’t imagine the school without her.

ree

We cant thank all our pupils and their supporters enough for the time and effort you have all put in this month.12 WEEK TURNAROUND is unheard of for a show and our TDC team has achieved it this month. Last year we had lots of cleaning to do after our onstage rehearsal which was 6 months into our show prep, this year our teachers were so impressed with the onstage rehearsal performances that they'd say majority of the dances were all ready show ready, just 3 months into the year with 4 weeks to go (after the Easter Break). That is something to be proud of. We hope you all are enjoying some well deserved time off, this Easter Break, and we can't wait to have you back and begin counting down till show day. Lets do this TDC.

Thank you.
