Despite having two weeks off for school holidays TDC has had a jam packed, dance filled month of April. Heres a recap of everything we have got up to this month and a reminder of all things coming TDC's way.
What we’ve been up to …
From Easter Camp to show tickets, we have been full on at TDC headquaters. There have been dances finished for our show, stand out performers, cuddles with our mascots Sparkles and Chico, and lots and lots of learning and fun.
Here are our April 2024 Highlights.
Easter Camp
The first week of our Easter Holidays, TDC hosted our very first Easter Camp. We had an absolute ball every day, making crafts, learning, working on skills, making dances, playing games and so much more. The kids all worked amazing as a team and truly set a great example of our family values. Our highlights would have to be our daily hot chocolates, watching our pupils make new friends and our easter egg hunt. We hope you all enjoyed the week as much as we did.
Big shout out to our TDC crew star Christopher, who took home our Easter camp Trophy for his Michael Jackson moves and being a great help throughout the week at camp.
Our boys TDC crew have been working hard on their routines, we have been very impressed with the older boys in the class, as they have been helping with the younger boys a lot with show work, which has been great to see. Team work makes the dream work.
In the last few months, we have had lots of pupils moved up levels in our stretch and skills classes, our new level 2 class have been amazing fitting right in and picking up new skills and techniques. Special shout out to our two new level 3 pupils Aria and Ariella, it has been a big jump from lvl2- lvl3 and these two have been thriving. Well done everyone, keep up the hard work.
As always at Stretch and Skills our pupils have been nailing some new skills. Rubie finally got the confidence to land her falling into bridge. Mia landed her hand stand bridge and Phoebe has mastered her back walkover with such consistency and determination that we’ve featured it in our acro dance!
Our Tuesday professionals … Highlighting our Tuesday Junior and Inter classes, who have both been so professional this month and have completed 4 out of 6 dances for the show (they are the first classes with fully finished routines). They are looking amazing and we are very proud of all there hard work.
The senior MT class have came to class week to week determined to succeed, they know exactly what they’re doing and the routine is looking clean and very professional. Their acting through song is really coming on too.
Lastly we have been so excited, as we start to begin choosing our show costumes for this years show.. keep your eyes pealed for some sneak peaks!
REMINDER THAT ALL SHOW COSTUME HIRE IS DUE - SUNDAY THE 5TH OF MAY!
Class stand Outs
This Month as we said has been unreal for little performers shining through… There are a few special mentions from our achievement book that we would like to shine a light on and say a massive well done for their passion and performance in classes.
Our senior MT class have been smashing their content, in particular Eilish , she’s really coming out her shell and pushing herself out her comfort zone which means she’s just growing from week to week.
Emily H has been a shining star in her classes this month, in Emma’s words ‘outstanding!!!’ She always knows the lyrics, the dance moves & her acting is excellent In MT, and brings so much energy to S&S.
Piper has been a stand out in class, especially cheerleading. She’s just a wee grafter and is consistently dedicated and determined, with amazing remembering routines.
Erin , our newest little class helper has been thriving this month. This wee superstar is always on the ball helping out in class and remembering the routines even when the teachers forget. She has grown massively in confidence this year!
Sarah is always a performer in class, this month she has especially been shining in hiphop. A newer style for out little musical theatre protege, she has been realy showing her inner Beyonce.
Well done to all these amazing pupils!
Class of the Month
This month Ellie has fought for her Saturday morning Preschool class, to be class of the month. This was a tough fight as all of our classes have been in full work mode in preparation for the show, since returning from Easter Break. Our Saturday morning preschools work on our syllabus and cover 3 different styles in just 45 minute; tap, ballet and jazz.
Our preshool classes can sometimes be quite stressfull to our teachers, being very busy with lots of little people. Ellie has said this year they are a breeze to teach, the class as a whole are so grown up! They are little professionals in the making.
They are so mature in their dance moves, copying the helpers every beat of their routines, this year we are also challenging them with line changes which is super hard in a class this young, and they are taking it in their strides. We are so proud of this class, performing week to week, having loads of fun in class, while still being super listeners in class.
We can’t wait to see them on the big stage!!
Chico and sparkles adventures
As usual Chico and Sparkles have been on their adventures with the little ones at TDC, thank you to these special pupils for working extra hard this month and taking care of our bears.
Eilidh H took home Chico for always working hard in class, always knowing her routines and her confidence has come on loads since she first joined us this year and wanted to give her some recognition as she has been such a joy to have in class.
Grace C took home Sparkles for being so kind and helpful to others in class, she has made so many new friends! She is very hard working and a perfectionist in all her moves and she’s is so polite to everyone, just a dream to teach.
Breagha Has been taking care of Sparkles for Easter. She has been working very hard on her listening ears in class, she has improved so much the last few weeks, remembering her steps and spaces for routines. She is always full of energy in class and making all her class mates smile.
Class Attendance
Lets Dance together, dance forever...
Attendance at classes has taken a real dip since returning after Easter. As much as we appreciate everyone is busy & things do come up it, is making it extremely difficult to teach choreography to classes when numbers are as low as they have been. We are at the key stages of show prep, routines are being finished and we are trying on costumes in classes. Please make sure your TDC pupils attendance is as good as it can be, we are all working as a team to make this our best show yet.

Emergency Contact Details
We need your help. It has came to our attention recently that not all pupils emergency contact details are up to date. It is so important that we have the correct details for each and every pupil attending class.
We are in the process of updating all of our information on our TDC work phone. Please can we ask all parents/guardians to send a text to TDC - 07482 451930 with the following information;
* Their name and relationship to TDC Pupil
* Childs/Childrens names
* Emergency contact number (preferably someone other than a parent)
This needs to be done asap as its pivotal in us providing the safest service possible to the kids and their families.

Upcoming Events
Last month we shared our TDC Calendar, as a blog on the website, this contained all of the important dates for the diary from show rehearsals to Awards night. Please make sure all parents/guardians have read through this and kept note of our dates for 2024.
Quick reminder that our show tickets have been on sale for a few weeks, just incase you missed tickets. Please make sure to get yours before we sell out!!

Awards Night
Our annual celebration night is fast approaching, and tickets sales are heating up. We have now introduced a link to buy tickets for our party night on our website, be sure to book yours ASAP! Don't forget TDC pupils go free but still need a ticket for the event.
We can't wait to celebrate another year of TDC.
